In my series of posts on responsive maps, legends and charts using D3, I used a dataset from the U.S. Census on educational attainment (by way of the new Census Reporter). That got me curious what states have a gap between men and women in who had a bachelor's degree. (Data)

Some thoughts: Alaska, Puerto Rico, North Dakota and Vermont are clear outlyers, all with a higher rate of bachelor's degrees for women than men. No state has an imbalance toward men. That's interesting.

Is there a better way to show this? Would paired bar charts make for easier comparison? Would a regression line help?
